We start performing sprinkler blow outs in October and continue through November.

It is ideal if you can be present during the service appointment, but please know that your presence is not mandatory. Our skilled technicians are trained to perform the winterization process efficiently, even if you are not available. However, we do recommend your presence to address any specific concerns or questions you may have.

If you are unable to be present, our technicians will access and perform the winterization process through the valve boxes. To facilitate this, it is crucial that the valve boxes are clearly visible and accessible without any obstructions. Please ensure that there are no plants, grass, or debris covering the valve boxes, as this can delay the service or lead to incomplete winterization.

Here are some steps you can take to prepare for the service appointment:

  1. Clear the Valve Boxes: Please inspect the valve boxes in your irrigation system and make sure they are free from any plants, grass, or debris that might hinder access.

  2. Accessibility: Ensure that the valve boxes are easily accessible and not obstructed by any obstacles.

  3. Communication: If there are specific instructions or concerns you would like to convey to our technicians, please let us know in advance. You can reach out to our customer service team.

We want to make sure that your irrigation system is properly winterized to protect it from cold weather damage. Your cooperation in ensuring access to the valve boxes is greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to assist you and provide you with the best possible service.

As part of our commitment to providing you with the best service and care for your irrigation system, we wanted to take a moment to explain what an “irrigation system blowout” is and why it is a crucial step in maintaining your system.

An irrigation system blowout, also known as winterization, is a process designed to prepare your irrigation system for the cold winter months. Here’s a brief overview of what it entails:

  1. Compressed Air: During an irrigation system blowout, our technicians use a specialized compressor to blow compressed air through the system’s pipes and sprinkler lines.

  2. Clearing Water: The high-pressure air removes any remaining water from the system. This is essential because water left in the pipes can freeze during cold temperatures, leading to cracks, leaks, and costly damage.

  3. Preventing Damage: By removing all water from the system, an irrigation system blowout prevents freeze-related damage and ensures that your system remains in optimal working condition.

Now, you might wonder why this process is necessary:

Protecting Your Investment: An irrigation system is a significant investment in your property. Failing to properly winterize it can result in expensive repairs or replacement in the spring.

Preventing Damage: Frozen water within the pipes and components of your irrigation system can cause them to crack or burst, leading to costly repairs and water waste.

Maintaining Efficiency: Proper winterization ensures that your system continues to operate efficiently when you need it, without disruptions caused by winter damage.

Longevity: Regularly performing an irrigation system blowout can extend the lifespan of your system, saving you money in the long run.

As the colder months approach, we recommend scheduling an irrigation system blowout to safeguard your investment and prevent potential damage. Our experienced technicians are well-equipped to perform this service efficiently, ensuring that your system is ready for the winter ahead.

One common question we receive from our valued customers is whether they can perform a sprinkler blowout themselves. While it is possible to attempt a DIY sprinkler blowout, there are some important factors to consider before deciding if it’s the right choice for you.

A sprinkler blowout, also known as winterization, involves removing all water from your irrigation system to prevent damage caused by freezing temperatures. Here are some key points to consider:

1. Equipment and Expertise: Performing a sprinkler blowout requires specialized equipment, such as an air compressor with the right specifications for the job. You also need knowledge of your irrigation system’s layout and components. If you are not experienced with this equipment and the process, it can be challenging to do it effectively and safely.

2. Risk of Damage: Incorrectly performed sprinkler blowouts can lead to damage to your irrigation system. Over-pressurizing or not fully removing water from the lines can result in costly repairs in the spring.

3. Warranty Concerns: DIY attempts at winterization might void any warranties on your irrigation system, leaving you responsible for repair or replacement costs.

4. Time and Convenience: Hiring a professional irrigation service ensures the job is done efficiently and correctly, saving you time and effort.

5. Safety: Handling an air compressor and pressurized air can be risky without proper training. Professionals are trained to perform this task safely.

If you have experience with the necessary equipment and feel confident in your ability to perform a sprinkler blowout effectively and safely, you may choose to do it yourself. However, many customers find it more convenient and reliable to enlist the services of a professional.
